From a very young age, Yolonda has had a special place in her heart for women’s health, particularly during their journey into motherhood. Once she became aware of the role of a doula and the impact that a doula’s support can have on a birth or postpartum experience, she knew she had found her life’s work.

As a Birth Doula:

Yolonda understands the need to have an advocate that is solely focused on the physical and emotional needs of the mom during the birthing process. Yolonda will always be by your side, providing support in the ways that are most helpful to you. She is an effective communicator, facilitating a collaborative environment among the birth team. Her sensitivity and responsiveness to your needs will help you feel safe, secure, and relaxed in any birth setting and with any birthing choices that you make (or change).

As a Postpartum Doula:

Yolonda understands that the first few weeks home with a new baby can often be overwhelming and full of new and unfamiliar experiences. Yolonda is committed to providing providing nurturing, caring, and non-judgmental support to families as they transitioned to life with a new baby. Whether its caring for your newborn while the family catches up on sleep, or providing care for your older children so that you can attend to the needs of your newborn, Yolonda’s services are flexible to meet your specific needs.

As a Childbirth Education instructor:

Yolonda provides comprehensive and compassionate care to each of the families that she serves, ensuring that they feel strong, competent and capable as they embark on this exciting new journey. She believes that every woman deserves quality reproductive health education to enable them to be deeply intone with their bodies during and after pregnancy.

A Little Bit More:

What Yolonda loves most about serving as a doula is supporting women through this pivotal transfomation into motherhood. She especially enjoys helping families get caught up on good sleep with overnight care!

Yolonda is a native Southeast Michigander and she loves to travel. In her free time, Yolonda enjoys cooking, spending time in nature and watching science and travel documentaries.
